Wild West Exodus - Kickstarter

Wild West Exodus is coming to an end of its run on Kickstarter, with 6 days to go at the time of writing, and despite having to compete against the launch of Zombicide Season 2, it is doing well.

One of the more recent unlocks is the Union Heavy Rail, which has a Kickstarter price of $160, rather than the RRP of $225.

The track set has just been unlocked as well, allowing you to add to the 2 foot of track already included with the game.

Hopefully, even people disinterested in starting a new game can see the potential of this kit as a terrain piece.

The rules have been developed by Alessio Cavatore and the Charlie iteration can be found here.

Gamers Lounge has a special edition on the game here

It's also well worth taking a look at the WWX facebook page, because of pictures like this

As things stand the game has four Factions available through the Kickstarter, with the possibility of others being unlocked should the correct stretch goals be reached. As things stand (and without a sudden torrent of interest as the Kickstarter ends) this is what Kicktraq projects, which sadly falls short of unlocking the Lawman Faction:

With that  graph in mind, here is the summary of the stretch goals (which hopefully has already been outdated by progress by the time this posts).

As you can see there's a lot planned out for the game, and the Factions each have a deep range in their own right. There are Heavies, Light Vehicles, and Heavy Vehicles, alternate sculpts, under bosses, sidekicks, as well as some barricade and terrain sets

As for the quality of the models the sprue shown below certainly looks impressive, and Dave Taylor has a painted version of a similar model  for those wanting a closer look.

And as for scale, the picture below gives a fair idea.

 On to the models.

Where I can I've set things out so that the models for a Faction are covered in that section, but there are some things where the image wasn't split, so you'll need to scroll down to find the Alt Bosses, Light Vehicles and Heavy Weapons. For the most part I'll let WWX talk for itself.

Having mercilessly crushed the Confederacy in the recent Civil War, the full power of the North now turns its greedy eyes westward. Fuelled by the full destructive potential of stolen scientific technologies, the Union's might seem unstoppable. It seeks to defend itself against any threat that might rise up against it by crushing all those who could even pose such a menace. Without pity or compassion, the stampeding juggernaut annihilates anything in its path as it continues to consolidate an entire continent beneath its armoured boot."

The Union also have a second Hired Hands box set unlocked (the first being simply the rank and file models from the box set).

 Outlaws
"Desperate men, who have turned their backs on the very concept of decency and honor, live as wanted criminals.  These degenerates of society struggle for a moment in the spotlight, caring only for the recognition of infamy.  Their egos drive body counts higher and higher with each town they pass through. With the clandestine assistance of renegade scientists these men will stop at nothing to be the strongest, fastest, most frightening spectres in the Wild West. From bio-mechanical implants to stolen experimental weaponry, only death may stop their headlong quest for fame and wealth. Powerful weapons and a reckless way of life have made the Outlaws a force to be reckoned with."

 Warrior Nation
"The proud descendants of the men who were once the lords and masters of the entire continent, now fight to regain power.  These Native American warriors have thrown off the noose of enforced servitude to the United States.  Joining their tribes together they form an alliance of unparalleled strength that taps into ancient spiritual power.   No longer does the Warrior Nation allow others to take from them the land of their ancestors. Confronting the twisted science of tomorrow with the purity of the Earth, the Warrior Nation has taken up the mantle of protector of the land, and will stop at nothing to eradicate this new threat."

The Enlightened
"The greatest scientific minds of a generation have been twisted and corrupted by the whispered words of a dark and mysterious force. Once, in another reality, soaring towers of graceful steel would have risen up into the sky built by these men. But now brutal machines of destruction, powered by the very essence of evil, seek to crush the ignorant beneath their iron weight. Medicine that could have saved countless lives now drags the helpless dead back into the land of the living.   Mindless automatons moving solely at the direction of these crazed geniuses.  Men so convinced of the purity of their own motives and ideals that nothing can be allowed to question them.  Once heralded as the saviors of mankind, they now stand to provide the tools and weapons set on destroying all living things on earth. "

The Enlightened Wave 2 Hired Hand box set contains ten of the rather unsettling models below (5 wheeled and 5 spider legs).

There are also the following models, with images that don't neatly split between Factions

Extras

There are civilians to add a bit of a narrative to the game (and also provide some cover), and Battle Foam bags to transport your shiny new models around.

Exclusives

The Kickstarter has relatively few exclusive models

The Dark Council and Spirit Totems are influence markers to replace the tokens used in the game, but you'll need quite a few to eliminate the need to plastic tokens.

The Ladies of the West, can be found automatically added to quite a few pledge levels.

It seems to be a thing to have a Firefly crew set as a Kickstarter exclusive (Sedition Wars amongst others included a homage) This is the WWX version, exclusive to the Kickstarter.

Terrain

There are both  WWX's own barricade terrain sets and buildings from Micro Art Studio available. Don't forget the Union Heavy Rail I showed way up at the top of this piece.

And that I think, is everything covered.Go support the Kickstarter.
