Get thee to some form of radio. Later today (well, 14:30 today) the first episode of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, performed by a star studied cast, will be on Radio 4. The BBC have put up a fair old hub for the show on their website.
Neverwhere has been a TV show, a book, a graphic novel, a play and now this.
I first came across Neverwhere, and hence Neil Gaiman, on a library shelf, where it had this lovely 90's cover.
The tale of London Below is not only a great story, but also opened up a lot of things to me, in terms of genre, authors, and comic books (it lead me to the Sandman and then onwards). It still sits as one of the books I'll come back to time and time again (along side Robin Hobb's Farseer trilogy).
